A generous donation to our Duke of Edinburgh students

We were delighted to welcome Penny Ross to Victoria today when she popped in to present Senior PE Assistant Alison Dougal with a cheque for £2000. Penny presented the cheque on behalf of the Louis Ross Foundation, which was established in memory of her son who was tragically killed in 2015. The foundation’s aim is to ‘help young people in difficulties’ and focusses on key areas about which Louis expressed concern. In this instance this amazing donation is helping to fund our student’s Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award expedition, planned for the summer 2020. The money will go a long way in providing accommodation and activities, including canoeing, adapted bike riding and day excursions to allow the students to finally earn the coveted gold badge, very much in the spirit that Louis himself lived his life. On hand with Alison to receive the cheque was two of our D of E students Brandon and Torin. Our sincere thanks to the Louis Ross Foundation for helping to provide this amazing opportunity to our D of E students.
