Charlotte Fulwood

Charlotte left VEC in July 2006 and joined Poole College in September 2006, where she completed a BTEC Introductory Diploma in Health and Social Care, after being informed that her original course was no longer available. Although she found college quite a daunting experience, she gave it her all and completed the course with a Distinction.

In September 2007, Charlotte attended Ferndown Upper Sixth Form, where she completed a two year CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education. This required her to complete several work placements at Bournemouth Day Nursery, Talbot Woods Day Nursery, Moordown St. John’s C.E. Primary School and St. Michael’s C.E. V.A. Primary School. She achieved an A Grade overall and thoroughly enjoyed the course.

In 2010, Charlotte started voluntary work at St. Aldhelm’s Combined School (now Bishop Aldhelm’s). Here, she worked with Years 3 and 4 for one year, before moving on to Year 1. She was then taken on as a part-time Teaching Assistant and Midday Supervisor for the Year 1 class.

Following this, in September 2013, Charlotte was employed as a Teaching Assistant with the Year 2 class at Kingsleigh Primary School. Her hours increased, and she remains in full time employment with them.

She is very proud of her achievements and happy to be doing what she’s always wanted to do.
