Canine Partners

Many of you will remember Orbit, the Golden Retriever who regularly visited us here at VEC with Graham Elliott. Graham works for Canine Partners as a ‘Puppy Parent’ which means that he looks after a puppy for a year and is responsible for giving them basic training as well as attending weekly sessions with Canine Partners’ other puppy parents and their trainees.  Orbit went on to continue his training last year and is now fully trained and working.

Graham has continued his work as a ‘puppy parent’ and for the last year has been working with Hannah, a beautiful Black Labrador. Hannah first visited us aged 11 weeks and so we have seen her progress from a small bundle of fluff who couldn’t be placed on the ground to a beautifully trained dog who is now ready to start the next part of her training. Hannah is now going to Leicester for a two month intensive training course before she will be matched with her permanent Canine Partner.

Last Friday classes Explorers, JW, JA and LB gathered in assembly to say goodbye and good luck to Hannah as she visited us for the last time. We have not said goodbye to Graham as we look forward to him returning to us soon with his latest trainee!
