Disability Tournament
On the 22nd May our Post 16 Sports Leaders hosted a disability tournament for Year 6 students from Bournemouth Collegiate as part of their Sports Leaders Level 2 course. Competitions organised and led by the students were Boccia – led by Sophie Young, Alex Elliott and Ebony Robinson, Table Cricket – led by Harry Bassett, Charles McKechnie and Josh Houchen, Wheelchair Slalom – led by Abigail Smith and Abi Punchard, Floor Snooker- led by Tom Troung and Ben Povey and Wheelchair Basketball – led by Spencer Owens and Charlie Scott. Students from Bournemouth Collegiate had great fun learning about the different disability sports and having a go at each event in teams. To add to the competitive nature of the morning Victoria students tallied points in each activity towards a final total for the tournament.
Our sports leaders thoroughly enjoyed teaching and demonstrating the variety of disability sports and having the opportunity to show off their talents. Our special thanks goes to the staff and students of Bournemouth Collegiate.
