Rickshaw Challenge

Anyone who saw the One show yesterday will know that Victoria student Ebony Robinson is taking part in this year’s BBC Children in Need Rickshaw Challenge. The event, which is returning for a sixth year, will see Ebony and the team cover a 470-mile journey from the Scottish market town of Jedburgh to central London, all to raise money for BBC Children in Need. The six young riders have been supported by BBC Children in Need funded projects. To date the Challenge has raised more than £12 million and in keeping with tradition, the riders will not only test their pedal power, but also their mettle, as they deliver speeches to a live audience explaining their motivations for taking on the challenge this year. The team hopes their efforts will not only help them raise money, but awareness of the real difference being made to disadvantaged children and young people’s lives across the UK thanks to the Charity. Setting off on Friday 11th November from Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders, the team will work their way down the East Coast in a bid to cross the finish line in London on Friday 18th November, in time for the BBC Children in Need Appeal Show. You will be able to see Ebony’s progress by tuning in to the BBC’s comprehensive coverage. We wish Ebony good luck in this challenging endeavour and the whole school will be behind her.
