Strawberry Growing Competition

The results are now in for this year’s strawberry growing competition which our student eco committee launched a few months ago.  Since then our lower school students and staff have been busy nurturing their blooms in order to grow the weightiest strawberries. Lower school Class students and teams were also challenged to make a strawberry product. Classes BE, LB, JW, Rainbows and CN concocted an array of delicious treats including an Eaton mess, a Pavlova, tart strawberry coulis and strawberry chocolates. Class CN even made a strawberry facial rub which Mr Brown dutifully applied. It was extremely difficult for the panel of judges who had to choose a winner, but by a unanimous vote first prize went Class JW for their Strawberry Coulis and chocolates. The prize was a hamper of strawberry goodies. Class CN won the weightiest strawberry prize with a huge 30g specimen. Thanks to everyone who put so much effort into taking part and to our eco committee with Jen Williams for organising.
