New School Captains

We have had a couple of weeks of hustings, manifesto films and campaigning in the run up to the election of our school captains from our newly appointed student ambassadors. The thirteen candidates have been working hard to win the votes of staff and students. Interim Head, Ed Potterton, had the task of counting the votes on the ballot papers this morning before announcing that George from class Pergins and Dolly from class Arne have been the successful candidates. Congratulations to them and to all of the nominees for their hard work.

The student captain and ambassador role are an opportunity for our older students to take on a position of responsibility, and support the SLT with the running of the school. Our Ambassadors will represent Victoria both in school and out and will take on a range of extra responsibilities including greeting visitors and supporting with tours of the school, mentoring younger students, taking an active role in the student council and many other exciting opportunities. We will be offering our ambassadors training and will be looking to develop leadership and communication skills, which will support them in the future.
