School Games Gold Mark Award

We are delighted to announce that Victoria Education Centre has once again achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2018/2019 academic year. The School Games Mark is a Government led award scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of sporting competition across their school and into the community.
Our sporting achievements this year include:
Sports Day
Sports Week
Grand Prix
Extensive Extra-Curricular Programme at lunch and after school
PE and Swimming Programme for all pupils
Entering county and nationwide sporting competitions
Participation in newly formed SEN League
Stoke Mandeville, Duke of Edinburgh and Calvert Trust Trips
A lot of our students competed in local inter-school competitions this year and we are extremely proud of our students for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible. As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.
We would like to thank our amazing sports staff, Head of Sport Simon Higgins and all members of staff who support the PE Department throughout the year in lessons, swimming, clubs, fixtures and sporting events.
