Sports Week- Thursday

On the third day of Sports Week our classes competed in ‘Ye Olde’ maypole dancing competition. This is a more historical take on our usual dance-off. After some practice runs class teams honed down their routines and perfected their moves for the final. There was some very fine dancing on display which made it all the more difficult for our panel of judges, who took proceedings very seriously. After the final summing up, Headteacher Mr Brown declared the results.  In third place was Furzey, in second Explorers, but this year’s champions with some beautiful choreography was Class CN.

After lunch John from ‘Hawks in the Forest’ showed us some of his beautiful Birds of Prey. Hawks in the Forest specialise in ‘Forest walks with Hawks’ and they operate from Moors Valley.  Our Students got to meet some Harris Hawks and some stunning Owls.  Lastly everyone came together to see and taste the results of our healthy eating challenge. This year our classes have been working together to produce ‘soups and salads’. There were some very tasty and enterprising dishes on offer and Mr Brown presented certificates for all entrants.
