The Swanage Lion's Club

We welcomed Ron and Jeanne Thompson to Victoria who kindly came in to present us with a cheque for £400. Mr and Mrs Thompson were representing The Swanage Lions Club which has been raising money for good causes since 1969. Sadly this is their final year.  Mr Thompson commented “Swanage Lions Club wanted to choose charities in Dorset to receive their final donations before the club disbanded and one of our choices was Victoria Education Centre.

Headteacher Simon Brown was on hand to gratefully receive the cheque while Sue Stratis Head of Support services conducted a guided tour. Ron & his wife Jeanne Thompson, who were the club’s longest serving members, met students and staff who were taking part in Sports Week activities. The money will go towards our ‘Canopy Appeal’ which has been set up to raise funds for an 80 meter walkway between the two main buildings of the school.
