Welcome Back and Jacob's Jump!

Hello everyone, our Summer term kicks off today as we welcome our staff and students back after what we hope was a restful and fun holiday and, of course we thank those that have worked over the last two weeks and kept Victoria ticking over.

Well, an amazing story to start with, as most of you probably know, student Jacob Whitehouse successfully fulfilled his pledge to make a parachute jump. Jacob took part in the tandem sky dive with lead instructor Henk Post from GoSkyDive in Wiltshire on Good Friday a little ahead of schedule as poor weather was forecast. The photos tell the whole story with Jacob having a spectacular experience commenting “Jumping out of the plane felt like going on a roller coaster. It was awesome and I saw Stonehenge! I also wanted to see my mum scared!” Mum April responded with “Jacob has talked about taking part in a parachute jump for a long time and I finally gave in! And yes, thank you very much Jacob, I was scared out of my wits!” On top of this £2000 has been raised by generous donations from family, friends and the general public. The funds raised will go towards providing a covered walkway between Carmel House and the main School. This will provide much needed protection from the elements for staff and students.

Victoria is very proud of Jacob, a young man who is not only facing his own challenges with good humour but also still finds time to take on life and his own ambitions and raise money for his School while achieving them. Inspirational.
