World Book Day

Thursday is World Book Day and we have some special activities planned. This year each class or team of therapists have been given a book and an empty drawstring bag to create their own Storysack! Story sacks are a great way of sharing stories and can include objects from the stories, sounds effects, materials and games. Each team have been given a budget of £20 and (in Apprentice style) the class that can budget, beg, borrow and steal and return the most cash will win. There will be additional prizes for creativity! Throughout the week there will be time for classes to share their Story sacks with each other. This will be a lovely opportunity for sharing our love of stories and by creating the Story sacks having a literacy legacy for all future VEC students. Throughout break and lunch times staff from across the centre will be reading stories to the students in our Story Corner. Students are being asked to come as characters from the books that their class are making a storysack for so watch this space for some colourful photos.
