BSO Concert

As part of The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s SEND schools tour, we hosted two very special concerts today. Musicians from The BSO and BSO Resound teamed up to present some excellent music to entertain us. BSO Resound became the world’s first professional disabled-led ensemble when it launched in 2018 and they have performed at various locations around the country including at the BBC Proms. The concert was very interactive, with the students having activity sheets to work with as well as being introduced to sections of the orchestra and some of the instruments by presenter Sam Mason. The talented ensemble ran through some classic medleys including music from Dr Who, James Bond, Superman and Mission Impossible. There was a ‘Sound of Music’ medley and pieces from ‘Toy Story’, ‘Up’, and ‘Harry Potter’.

We are extremely lucky to have been able to experience this and are very grateful to John Horniman’s Children’s Trust, The Rivers Foundation and to Sam Mason, The BSO and Jo Whittaker for this wonderful opportunity.
