Maths Week Day 4

Class Portland and Brownsea made a start on their ‘Trashion Show’ costume today with the students using their maths skills to make the different elements. Measuring, shape recognition and sorting all played a part. Meanwhile class Furzey have been counting and using shapes in their lesson, selecting shapes to put the finishing touches on their costume. Class Purbeck have been learning about Roman mosaics. They looked at lots of pictures of real mosaics and at a sample of mosaic. They created a word bank as they discussed colours, designs, patterns and symmetry. During the session, they investigated shapes that were in the mosaics, squares, circles, rectangles and triangles.
