Duke of Edinburgh Gold Success

Our Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award students 2017 went to St James’ Palace London yesterday to be presented with their awards. Around 600 young people and family members attended the event where they met HRH Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, and share stories about their D of  E adventures. Everyone looked really smart and were impeccably well mannered, representing VEC well by answering all of Prince Edward’s questions.

Connor, Ebony, Tom, and Esther, along with Dan who completed his Bronze and Silver whilst being a student at VEC, are all officially triple award holders and received their Gold certificates from the BBC’s disability news correspondent Nikki Fox. Nikki was particularly impressed with our student’s achievements, recognising the importance of the award building resilience in the face of adversity. We are very proud of them.
