Thought for the Week

Thought for the Week (#TftW) is a weekly theme all staff and students focus on to help us consider issues and topics that affect how we live and how our lives impact on others. Discussion during Registration and Class Time helps students develop their opinions and consider their actions in different contexts.

Every Monday morning we introduce our thought for the week. This will be read out in classes, on VIBE radio, and here on our website. Our #TftW is also shared in all assemblies and symbolised.

Thoughts may be inspired by particular curriculum or topical events, our Golden Rules, or general world observations.

This year the #TftW’s will be linked to the UNICEF Rights of the child as we work towards achieving level 1 Rights Respecting Schools Award.

Initially we will be introducing the idea of rights and then we will be covering 1 ‘right’ each month, starting with article 31 ‘Every child has the right to relax, play and take part in a wide range of cultural and artistic activities’.

For more information about the award please visit our Rights Respecting School page.
