Johnny runs the London Marathon

As reported in the March edition of VECLife Johnny Real ran for us in this year’s London Marathon. Yesterday Johnny popped into Victoria to present his Brother Brandon with an amazing £844.95. Johnny’s motivation for taking on this challenge was his Brother Brandon and on his just giving website he had this to say:

“Brandon, who is 12, can’t walk unaided so gets around in a wheelchair. This doesn’t stop him being an amazingly cheeky, fun, loving young chap who gives me huge motivation and inspiration to train for the toughest event I’ve ever done, the Marathon! Victoria has given Brandon excellent opportunities. One of which he absolutely loved when he went to see England play rugby at Twickenham! (little bit jealous)”.

Johnny, who is a triathlon runner, trained hard for the big day and completed the full 26 miles in 4 hours 49 minutes. On behalf of everyone at Victoria, thanks Johnny for your brilliant efforts on our behalf your donation will go a long way in helping us maintain the level of care we provide for our students.

Johnny has made a video of highlights from the big day which has been posted on our YouTube channel and will give you a small insight into what it takes to run 26 miles.
