National Sports Week at VEC – Day Five

It’s Grand Prix time and as the sun continued to shine down our students were on the course early to get a feel for the conditions. As usual competition was fierce and because of the weather there were a few more pit stops than usual. To help set the scene our special guests for the day brought in an array of vehicles and the students had the opportunity to experience sitting in some really powerful cars. The excitement continued to build as race time approached and then the flag was waved and they were off!!! As usual two races were held where users had to contend with a course that included some wicked bends. After a hard fought race with no quarter given our winners this year are Chris Jones and Louis Meddleton with George and Joanne in second place and in third were Jenson and Holly. Tony Barnard was on hand to present the trophies.

It’s been a fantastic week and special thanks must go to Simon Higgins and the PE team for a wonderful and varied experience of sporting activities over the course of the week. Thanks guys it’s been amazing. Thanks also to all our special guests who have made their visits fun and engaging while providing memorable experiences for those who are at the heart of everything we do, our students.
