National Sports Week at VEC – Day Two

National Sports Week continues and today it was handball in the sunshine with Coach Liz Roberts from Poole Phoenix. The students loved this fast paced sport which had been adapted for our wheelchair users. Map reading and exploring in the grounds made for a fantastic activity as the students tried their hands at orienteering. ‘Balloon Carnage’ lived up to its name in a fun physical team challenge and then into the MILE room for a relaxation session. Wheelchair rugby and hockey followed in the afternoon with staff performing ‘the Haka’ to get us under way. A great day 2! Tomorrow is the halfway point and we have Fencing, Ice Skating and Races lined up.
