Princess Royal Visits Victoria

HRH Princess Anne came to Victoria today to officially open our new Hydro Pool. The Princess, who is a Patron of Livability was greeted by Mrs Pitt-Rivers the Lord Lieutenant of Dorset, Livability Chair Mrs Caroline Armitage, Chair of Governors Mr Peter Jennings and Principal Mrs Chris Davies. The Princess took a tour of our amazing new pool facilities before meeting staff and students in the media suite. English and Media Teacher Beth Kay chatted to the Princess about the new technology available to our students before showing her to the Radio station. There, the princess was keen to know about how we use the station and programming schedules. Student and DJ Harry Bassett did very well answering her questions. The Princess then made her way to the upstairs outdoor activity area where Mrs Stratis  introduced her to Site Manager, Morgan Sindall, Steve Plumb, the architects designers and some of the construction team were also presented. The Princess then made her way to the sports hall where she met some of our many patrons and supporters. She also met our sports leaders who demonstrated table cricket before making a keynote speech thanking our donors and highlighting the importance of their continued support. Shortly before departing she was presented with a posy by student Alisha from our Explorers class.
