RaceRunners on National Fitness Day

As part of National Fitness Day, yesterday afternoon we welcomed Graham Bussell from Crest 88 who showcased a range of RaceRunning bikes and frames. For those that may not be familiar with RaceRunning, it’s an athletic discipline and Paralympic sport for disabled athletes or ‘racerunners’. Athletes use a running bike which is a three-wheeled frame with a saddle, body support and most notably, no pedals. The bikes and frames are extremely lightweight and adaptable and got the thumbs up from our students who took them for a test run. On hand to oversee the students were Victoria’s Martin Cook and Community Physiotherapist Jane Reynolds who are currently looking to organise a RaceRunning club as a further provision of the Poole Athletics club.
