Remembrance Day 2021

On Thursday 11th November, we gathered as a school at 11am this Remembrance Day for the Last Post and a minute’s silence to honour our armed forces members who have died in the line of duty. As a school we acknowledge the courage and sacrifice of those who served their country and our responsibility to work for the peace they fought hard to achieve. It is important we remember this. By educating students about this history, they can develop a deeper understanding of these world events with the hope of maintaining a peaceful future. Class Purbeck made a wreath from recycled plastic in their ‘World About Me’ sessions for the ceremony which contained words which they themselves agreed upon. The wreath is now being presented to St Aldhelm’s church where it will be placed on their wall of remembrance.
