Sports Day 2016

Victoria’s Sports Day 2016 exploded in a riot of colour this morning as our teams started the now customary parade. The theme this year was ‘Carnivals’ and team captains took their inspiration from around the world to bring us the colourful, the festive and the strange. So much effort goes into the costumes it’s really difficult choosing a winner of the fancy dress trophy, but this year our parents, friends and carers helped us to choose the fancy dress champion. The cup went to the ‘Rio’ team and Captain Liz Freeman collected the trophy from Tesco’s Community Champion Jan Gould. On with the games! The games this year were varied and as usual gave our parents and carers the chance to participate. Victoria’s sports day wouldn’t be the same without a little water being splashed around so some staff members also got soaked in the line of duty. At the end of a really fun day the results were announced. In third place was the ‘Rio’ team. In second place was the ‘Spain’ team, but champions for 2016 was the ‘Venice’ team. Team Captain Gemma Milne collected the trophy from Jan Gould, to crown a fabulous day, brilliantly organised by Hannah, Rob, Martin and the PE team. Thanks to all staff for supporting the students today, have a look at the photos and see the smiles you have put on their faces.
