Victoria Education Centre prints their first 3D model created using CAD software

Over the last 18 months or so environmental control co-ordinator Mark Moseley, who works with our students to make the everyday things like drawing the curtains a possibility through switches, has been taking part in the Shiva project. This international multi-organisation project aims through ICT based technologies to bring to SEN students and those recovering from debilitating injuries access to artistic tools. The SHIVA project aims to create a tool that combines virtual reality, advanced geometric modelling, gesture analysis and digital fabrication in a framework for the modelling and physical fabrication of 3-dimensional shapes and objects. At VEC we have just taken delivery of and implemented a 3D printer which the students can design and fabricate any number of objects.
