Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme

A report on our Christmas Fayre is to follow (we are just awaiting the grand total raised) but some of you who visited on Saturday may have seen our stall highlighting the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme and the hard work and organisation our PE Team puts in. The team were out in force promoting the Gold D of E challenge that will be taking place next summer. Visitors voted for which member of the PE team they wanted to see gunged by placing coins into the respective bottles. The team member with the highest level of coins by 1:30pm would be gunged!

It turned out to be a draw between Head of PE Hannah Parry and Senior PE Assistant Martin Cook, who were both gunged in front of an excited and enthusiastic crowd. Many thanks to all who donated, we raised £180 with the proceeds going towards sending five of our students to NASA in Florida, for their D of E Gold award expedition. Also thanks to Hannah and to Martin for being great sports and for taking one for the team. If you missed the moment you can see it in all its gory glory by clicking below.
