Mental Health Awareness Week – Day One

This week is Mental Health Awareness week and Victoria is fully committed to raising awareness of this important issue. Research has shown that two thirds of us experience a mental health problem in our lifetimes, and stress is a key factor in this. By tackling stress, we can go a long way to tackle mental health problems such as anxiety and depression, and, in some instances, self-harm and suicide. Over the next five days we will be posting useful information on how to tackle stress and a few easy stress relieving exercises you can try at home. This information is also being passed to all staff and students and we have activities planned including special Speech sessions, Occupational Therapy sessions, a ‘Mindful Marathon’ and a drop-in café. Our first link for the day is an A-Z of stress from mentalhealth.org.
