Sports Week

Victoria’s medieval themed National Sports Week got under way on Tuesday with a fun day of activities. The over-all theme today was inter-class medieval sports with classes competing against each other in welly throwing, archery and hockey, there was also some fun jousting which was demonstrated by our staff ‘volunteers’. The students entered the sports hall with a medieval honour guard and Head of PE Hannah Parry declared the week ‘open’. For many though the day was stolen by our special guest for the day Steve Eddy and his ‘Menagerie of Wondrous Creatures’ all the way from Exmoor Zoo. Entertaining and knowledgeable, Steve introduced us to such things as the Giant Millipede, a Meerkat , a Tarantula, and a Python among other critters. A great start to what promises to be a very special week.
