World Mental Health Awareness Day

Today, we have Joined thousands of people across the UK in wearing yellow to demonstrate that young people are not alone in facing mental health challenges. For this year’s World Mental Health Awareness Day the theme has been “Let’s all come together to talk about mental health and show everyone that mental health matters.” It is imperative to remember that discussing our mental health can greatly aid us in coping with life’s ups and downs. We held two special assemblies to share information on how to look after our mental health and who to talk to if help is needed. A focus throughout this week has been on ‘Acts of Kindness’ which were shared and celebrated.
Well done to Frankie, who noticed that his friend had lost his glasses and brought him a pair in from home. Kaydon, who comforted his friend when she was upset. Miika, who shared his toy with a classmate who wanted to play. These were just a few of the incidents of kindness from this week, and they all add up to improved wellbeing. The students have also been engaged in wellbeing activities. Thank you to Deanne Carr for organising an interesting and informative day.
